Any thoughts about providing a WCF adapter for JSON.NET?

Nov 28, 2012 at 7:23 PM

I recently came across this blog post on how to replace the built in WCF JSON serialization with JSON.NET and spent a good chunk of my evening getting everything working.

It seems like it would be ideal if JSON.NET just came with those adapters built in, at least in the server versions.  Then, you could just modify some lines in web.config and everything would just work.

I'd be happy to submit a patch for this, however I wanted to make sure it wouldn't get declined first.

Thoughts?

I don't want to include WCF stuff. You could create a new project and NuGet package with the adapters in a separate dll.

Ok not a problem, I figured that might be the case (might lead to project bloat) which is why I figured I'd check first.

Hi Hiawatha,
Do you have implemented the adapter? Could you please share it? Thanks.
